The 70-metre high WTC tower in the centre of Almere will now serve as a four-star hotel!

Developer DutchRE B.V. in Amsterdam has ensured that this tower, also called Martinez office tower, has undergone a real transformation in 2017: the former 17-storey office building is now a four-star hotel with 222 luxury rooms, a spa, and a business club with terrace on the 15th floor.

Plug-and-play electrical installation

The electrical installers of Total Elektra B.V. have chosen for the plug-and-play system from GIA Systems on a time-conscious basis: in addition to the Flexbox® distribution box, they also worked with ± 3,000 GIA extension and connecting cables, which made the configuration of the right components super easy.

Products from GIA Systems

In close consultation, the type and number of cables and Flexbox® distribution boxes have been determined for each room type. Each room needed 2 to 3 junction boxes to distribute the power to the sockets, switches and light points. Due to the size of the hotel, all cables are made in CPR class Cca and made to measure. In addition to the cables per hotel room, hundreds of other cables have been supplied in the hotel for further power distribution. This could usually be made and delivered within 3-5 working days.

Logistics at GIA Systems

For the different hotel rooms (type A, B and C), we made packages per hotel room at the request of Total Elektra, so that everything on the construction site could be assembled smoothly and quickly. As 225 hotel rooms are involved, this is a considerable effort. This logistical operation took place in our workshop just across the border in Bree, Belgium (near Weert). On demand, a few ‘construction layers’ were prepared and sent to the construction site.
